DMC Tools Product Categories:
- Crimp Tools:
DMC® specializes in designing and building custom crimp tools for new and emerging markets. Our portfolio of crimp tools includes indent and form crimps as well as general maintenance tools (GMT). Our indent crimp tools are designed with extreme precision to deliver 8, 4, and 2 indent crimps. Our form crimp tools are capable of creating hexagonal, circular, nest and indent, b crimp, and captive crimps to name a few. Many of our tools work in conjunction with interchangeable dies, eliminating the need for separate fixed-die crimp tools. DMC has hundreds of turrets and positioners to accommodate a multitude of wire sizes and crimp depths.
DMC offers a variety of crimp tools for different applications as mentioned below :
- Manual Crimp Tool
- Pneumatic Crimp Tool
- Battery Powered Crimp Tool
Manual Crimp Tools : Manual crimp tools are lightweight and compact.
Pneumatic Crimp Tool : Pneumatic tooling is ideal for high-production work environments. Pneumatic tools are known for dependability and adaptability.
Battery Powered Crimp Tool : - Battery tools were created to provide a portable and ergonomic means for crimping wire.
- Connector Assembly Tools :
Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® produces a variety of innovative connector assembly tools including insertion/removal (I/R) tools, Contact retention testers, Adapters, Banding tools, jam nut sockets, and more. These tools are used to insert and remove contacts, verify their retention, and hold connectors while installing backshell, strain-relief, or EMI/RFI shielding.
- Insertion/Removal Tools :
DMC’s comprehensive line of connector assembly tools are used to insert and remove contacts, verify their retention, and hold connectors while installing backshell, strain-relief, or EMI/RFI shielding. A variety of I/R tools have been designed to accommodate hundreds of connectors including mil-spec circular connectors. Probe, tweezer, and plier-style I/R tools are available in both plastic and metal allowing operators to properly install or remove contacts without damage.
- Contact Retention Tools :
DMC® offers a complete line of Contact Retention Test Tools to check the retention of power contacts. Contact retention tools allow for in-house quality assurance tests to check the retention of contacts within the connector.
These tools check the retention of pins and sockets in electrical connectors by indicating when proper pressure has been applied. The Contact Retention Test Tools consist of two parts: the tool body and the removable tester tips.
A nylon hand protector is provided with each tool body. The tester tips are color coded for specific sizes and designated for pins or sockets. Use pin end tips to test sockets and socket end tips to test pins.
- Adapter :
DMC’s adapter tools are designed to hold connectors while backshell accessories are installed. Adapters are available for most military-qualified circular connectors, as well as many commercial connectors.
- Jam nut sockets :
DMC Jam Nut Socket tools have been developed specially for the installation of Jam Nut receptacle connectors and are an excellent choice for OEM assembly areas. They are available in a versatile composite construction which is an excellent choice for OEM assembly areas due to their light weight, and the non-marking surfaces, a durable machined aluminium series and the traditional "General Purpose" formed steel socket for non-torque specific applications.
Banding tools:
DMC banding tools set the standard in reliability for terminating electromagnetic interference (EMI) bands throughout mission-critical systems. Our banding tools meet stringent specifications to ensure secure and consistent band installations that withstand intense environmental conditions. These tools are commonly used across aerospace, defense, and other highreliability electronic industries.
DMC’s one-step banding tools are built to SAE AS81306/1 specifications and designed to install stamped bands. They are available in two varieties to accommodate both .250” and .125” wide bands. The cutoff handle on the one-step tools easily cuts, bends, and locks the shield band simultaneously.
Tool Kits:
DMC® provides custom EWIS (electrical wiring interconnect systems) tool kits for individual and combined platforms. Each thoroughly researched kit contains all of the necessary tools to prepare, terminate, install, and remove wire. Tools remain organized and protected along with cross-reference materials, content charts, and instructions that allow technicians to repair complex wiring systems accurately and efficiently. Our kits are available in multiple configurations including hand-carry kits, trolley cases, drawers, roll-around cabinets, and more.
DMC's team researches, sources, designs, and develops kits to support a variety of electrical wiring interconnect systems. Decades of connector and tooling knowledge ensure kits provide coverage for all serviceable connectors, terminals, splices, and contacts. Kits are then designed to optimize the space and extend the life and capability of the tools.
Ready-to-use kits are also available for commercial and military helicopters. These kits are designed to support various types from light-utility to heavy-lift. A single kit can accommodate one platform or a mixed fleet.
Safe-T-Cable:
Safe-T-Cable® is designed to prevent bolts, nuts, and other fasteners from loosening in environments with excessive heat and vibration. In addition to installing three times faster than lockwire, Safe-T-Cable also produces stronger and safer results. The user-friendly tooling guarantees a consistent installation with every use. Safe-T-Cable installations eliminate sharp edges, significantly reducing the risk of injury. Safe-T-Cable is easy to train, and rework is essentially eliminated.
Safe-T Cable Tool:
Adjustable and pre-set tension Safe-T-Cable® tools are available in manual, pneumatic, battery, and manual-hydraulic power types. Adjustable tension tools have a rotary tension mechanism that can be adjusted to your precise cable tension requirements. Pre-set tension tools are set at the factory and can be operated with a single hand. Multiple nose lengths accommodate most applications and are interchangeable between tools for the same cable size for added versatility.
Lacelok:
LaceLok® is a revolutionary solution for secondary wire harness support and is a direct replacement for hand-tied lace and cable ties. The LaceLok system consists of LaceLok (Cable Lacing Fasteners or CLF) and the LaceLok installation tool which combined provide safer and superior results.
LaceLok is made of non-abrasive aerospace-grade meta-aramid fiber lace and features a small, rounded fastener. It can withstand extreme temperatures from -65°C to 260°C and is resistant to common chemicals including hydraulic fluid, JP-8 jet fuel, lubricating oil, and isopropyl alcohol.
LaceLok offers enhanced ergonomics eliminating abrasions, operator fatigue, and repetitive motion injuries often caused by cable ties and hand-tied lace.
- Go/No-Go Gauges :
DMC manufactures go/no-go gages to verify tolerances and calibrate crimp tools. Inspection gaging is an important step of any high-reliability termination process to ensure the tooling being used is in specification and will produce the precise termination expected.
- Tensile testing equipment :
DMC’s tensile testing equipment provides accurate measurements to verify the electrical integrity of a connection. Determining the force necessary to permanently deform or break tensile helps manufacturers and maintenance technicians predict the performance of these materials in mission-critical electrical systems. These tools work with interchangeable grips to accommodate wire sizes 26 to 8 AWG.
